Nurse Practitioner (PHD/DNP)

Clearwater, FL
Full Time
Experienced
Overview:
LifeWorks Wellness Center is seeking a doctorally-prepared Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team in a dedicated follow-up and maintenance care role. This position was created to ensure our active treatment and program patients continue to receive timely, high-quality follow-up care — chemo testing, lab reviews, rechecks, and annual/maintenance visits — as patient volume grows.

Who we are:
LifeWorks Wellness Center is one of the largest integrated practices in the U.S. Patients travel from all over the world to receive our holistic, life-changing treatments for chronic health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage follow-up, recheck, lab review, and annual/maintenance visits for established patients across all three physicians once their programs are complete or they have moved to a maintenance phase.
  • Conduct chemo testing follow-ups, 6-week lab reviews, standard follow-up visits, and final program review visits per LifeWorks protocol.
  • Track patient progress, quickly identify setbacks, and collaborate with patient’s practitioner to adjust care as needed to ensure excellent outcomes.
  • Clearly and accurately document all patient interactions in the EMR.
  • Maintain open communication with the supervising physicians and clinical/administrative staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Respond promptly to emails and questions from RNs and patients.
  • Complete an initial training period under the direction of our lead physicians to ensure alignment with LifeWorks' clinical philosophy and treatment approach before assuming a full caseload.
  • Escalate complex, non-responsive, or actively worsening cases to the supervising physician rather than managing independently.
  • Support the formulation and documentation of clinical protocols for ongoing follow-up and maintenance care.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in alternative and holistic medicine strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with using an EMR system.
Qualifications:
  • Active Florida APRN license, board certification, and BLS certification required.
  • Doctoral degree (PhD or DNP) required.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly with established patients.
  • Comfortable working under the direction of, and in close clinical alignment with, the lead physicians during and after the training period.
  • Strong listening and communication skills.
  • Incredible compassion and empathy for the patient and their situation.
  • Persistence to understand and address the root cause, not just symptoms.
  • Excellent observation skills.
  • Ability to educate patients quickly and effectively on the alternative approach to care.
Language Skills:
Must speak English; bilingual is a plus. Must have solid written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to respond to sensitive and private communications from patients and family members with empathy in both voice and attitude.

Physical Demands of Position:
Will examine patients in-office, including consults, physical exams, and other required exams. Will work with patients of all sizes and in various states of health, including those with chronic illness. Must be able to safely assist with patient positioning during exams and procedures.

Hours:
This is a full-time position with a minimum of a 40-hour work week.

Benefits:
  • Employer-sponsored medical, vision, and dental insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Holiday pay
